I'm Laughing with Him, Not at Him

Do you ever do something stupid and then think, "Thank goodness nobody knows about this. It would be embarrassing if people found out." I do. And I usually don't blog about them.

However, if my husband does something stupid, then it's just funny.

This week:

*He made bread. (I know, swoon.) He cut us both slices, warm from the oven. I had to spit my first bite out. I said, "Something is wrong with this." Come to find out, he put two TABLESPOONS of salt in the dough instead of two teaspoons. He's been eating both loaves of salty, gross bread all week and I've been eating store bought.

*He melted a plastic bag on top of the toaster oven.

*He melted a ziploc bag on top of the stove.

*He left the refrigerator door open all night.

He's usually not like this. I think he must be overtired.

  1. My boyfriend drove to school with his glasses on top of his truck. This was a few months ago, but I'm still chuckling . . . ;o)

  2. oh no! I'm not sure I would be laughing!

Reminds me of the time I left my in-law's beach house and apparently didn't shut the freezer door tight and when my sis-in-law came to the house, there were foul odors and liquid running everywhere. Soooooo embarrassing.

  3. My husband one time wanted turkey in the middle of the year for no reason. We had gotten a Showtime Rotisserie for Christmas that year, and I was out for the day, so he thought he'd "set it and forget it." Only, he didn't so much know that turkeys have plastic bags full of giblets inside.

I got home that evening and the house reeked of burned plastic and overcooked turkey. It was inedibly dry and tasted, not surprisingly, like plastic. I refused to eat it on the grounds that plastic isn't a food, but he ate it, one sandwich at a time, for almost a week. He didn't like turkey again for a loooooong time.

I know word verification is a pain, but I'm getting a lot of spam comments, more than I can keep up with. I hope you'll leave a comment anyway. I really appreciate you reading and love hearing back from you.
